Zelia Carbone is a visual artist and set designer whose research combines painting and material exploration, investigating themes of memory, identity, and cultural stratification. She graduated in Set Design and Costume from the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo and has developed significant experience in theatre, cinema, and visual production—fields that continue to influence the narrative and spatial dimension of her work.
In recent years, she has primarily focused on painting, developing a personal language based on mixed media techniques and layered surfaces, where material elements and painterly gestures interact as traces of individual and collective memory.
Her artistic path is rooted in an international perspective: she is accredited as an International Artist by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority in the “Creatives in Culture & Arts” category, and her works are part of the permanent collection of the Royal Gallery in Dubai.
In 2025, she was appointed as a representative in the United Arab Emirates for two Italian contemporary galleries, contributing to the development of artistic and institutional relationships and promoting dialogue between different cultural contexts.
Through her practice, Zelia Carbone positions herself as an interpreter of a visual language capable of connecting experiences, territories, and identities, contributing to the creation of an intercultural dialogue grounded in art as a shared space.
